This annual event shares the research and ongoing work of the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Disability Statistics and Demographics (StatsRRTC), which is part of the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire.
The agenda for the event is still being finalized, but will include:
- Day 1 – Release of the Annual Report, Compendium and State Reports. These are three web-based tools that make finding and using disability statistics easier for individuals, advocates, researchers, and others.
- Day 2 – Updates on Federal Data Collection Efforts
- Day 3 – Implications of COVID-19 for the Population with Disabilities
- Day 4 – Disability and African Americans
RTC:Rural contributed updated rural data to the compendium, including statistics on poverty, income, employment, age, race, disability type and insurance coverage across metroplitan, micropolitan and non core areas. These data highlight the disparity that exists between disability rates across urban and rural areas with rural areas consistently reporting higher rates of disability.
As data on disability in rural areas is now available annually, the RTC:Rural will continue to update data on disability in rural areas to the compendium.
You can also have a hard-copy of the Annual Disability Statistics Compendium mailed to you. Fill out this form to place an order.
