Date: Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Time: 2:00 p.m. Eastern

Training Format: Teleconference-Webconference

Speakers:

Marsha Katz, Technical Assistance Consultant, NATA Rural Institute, University of Montana , Missoula , MT

Training Description:

Basic training for CWICs includes great general information on Income and Resources and where to find them in the POMs. However, it doesn't include information on Income and Resources that are specifically related to American indians and Alaska Natives.

Join us for this training to learn where to find the various kinds of Indian-related income and resources in the online POMs. We will start with the SSA home page, and walk through all the relevant links and pages to give you the information you need as you serve people from various tribes and villages. You will learn about the various sources of Indian-related income and resources; how to verify them; how to navigate the POMs online; and what other policy links are on the SSA website.

In addition to the power point, you will receive a collection of the POMS Indian-related income and resource policies, as well as added supporting explanatory documents.
