Housing

A major issue in rural areas is the availability of affordable accessible housing.  One response has been to develop subsidized housing projects with accessible space set aside.  This model may be appropriate as one option in larger communities where affordable, accessible private homes and rentals also are an option.  It may be less appropriate and less possible in the many small communities where the population density does not justify such projects and where such housing is not available.
