Average Health Resource Utilization Costs.
There were seventy-seven participants. The table tracks
their expenses for various medical services at entry into the Living Well with a
Disability program and then again four months after the end of the program.
Cost for inpatient hospital days at entry was $2,590. Four
months after the intervention, the cost was $2,170. Cost for emergency room visits at
entry was $59. Four months after the intervention, the cost was $26. Cost for
outpatient hospital visits at entry was $199. Four months after the intervention, the cost
was $262. Cost for physician visits at entry was $176. Four months after the intervention,
the cost was $155. Cost for medications at entry was $231. Four months after the
intervention, the cost was $244. Cost for lab tests at entry was $228. Four months after
the intervention, the cost was $243.
Cost for therapy and services at entry was $616. Four months after the intervention, the
cost was $604. Average total costs per person at entry was $4,098. Four months after
the intervention, the total cost was $3,704.
