Description of Table 3: Logistic Regression Predicting Treatment Choice from
Survey 2.
The Predictors on Survey 1 were "Pain Limitation" and "Quality of Life". The
treatments
used by at least 25% of respondents on Survey 1 were "stress management",
"physical
therapy", "home exercises", "surgery", and "home modification" (such as a new
bed).
Of these, pain limitation on survey 1 was predictive only of surgery: odds ratio
of 1.044,
95% confidence interval of 1.011 to 1.078. Quality of life at survey 1 was
predictive of
the other four treatments, but not of surgery. For these four treatments, the
odds ratio
and 95% confidence interval were: stress management, odds ratio of .709, 95%
confidence interval of .541 to .930. Physical therapy: odds ratio of .729, 95%
confidence interval of .559 to .952. Home exercises: odds ratio of .740, 95%
confidence interval of .550 to .998. Home modification: odds ratio of .640, 95%
confidence interval of .482 to .850.
